Dear Friends, Today the greyhounds need your help in a new way! Please join us in tweeting at the governors of every U.S. racing state to let them know that dog racing must end. Tweet now for the greyhounds.
Did you know that racing greyhounds are kept in tiny stacked cages for over twenty hours a day? They receive just brief “turn-outs” to relieve themselves. That’s it. For the rest of the time, they languish in their cages. Sadly, when these fragile hounds are taken out to race several times a month, they break their legs, their backs, suffer seizures and paralysis, die of heart attacks… some have even been electrocuted!
We can't let this go on
3-year-old Braska Fluff was destroyed after she broke her leg racing in West Virginia. On Election Day 2018, the greyhounds had their happiest day ever. History was made when our Florida ballot question passed 2-1 at the polls. Eleven of the remaining 17 American tracks will now close.
But dog racing is still legal and operational in Alabama, Arkansas, Iowa, Texas and West Virginia. Please take action now by tweeting at the governors of these states and tell them that you will not stand for the abuse of these gentle hounds!
