Dear Friends,

My name is Gina and I was rescued from a Florida dog track. Now for the first time ever, all greyhounds throughout Florida will soon have the same chance that I did, to live free and be loved like all dogs deserve.

That's because a miracle happened on Monday. In a vote of 27-10, the state’s official Constitution Revision Commission approved a ballot question to end dog racing! If confirmed by the voters in November, dog racing will be phased out by 2020 in the state where it first began.​

If you feel as strongly as I do that dog racing must end in Florida, and if you want to help save thousands of loving hounds, please take the opportunity now to become a monthly supporter of our campaigns. Every extra dollar you give will empower our campaigns to shut down dog tracks in Florida and around the world. 

A recent poll of 1,000 Florida voters found that 70% of informed voters will go out and Vote Yes for the Dogs. So now is the time to roll up our sleeves and get out the message that greyhound racing is outdated, inhumane and must end. ​

I would like to offer heartfelt words of gratitude to several people without whom this week’s victory would have been impossible. Former Senate Presidents Tom Lee and Don Gaetz joined by Commissioner Brecht Heuchan sponsored the greyhound proposal. Attorney General Pam Bondi and fellow Commissioners Lisa Carlton and Jacqui Thurlow-Lippisch championed the debate and encouraged their fellow members to vote yes. Big thanks are also due to the 250,000 people who signed and shared our petition to the Constitution Revision Commission. This was really a team effort!​
